CUET UG Overview
The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate (CUET UG), conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is the unified entrance examination for admission into undergraduate programs across all 45 central universities in India and a growing list of state, private, and deemed universities. CUET UG has standardized the admission process, ensuring transparent, merit-based selection beyond the traditional Class 12 marks-based cut-offs.
Exam Pattern
CUET UG is a computer-based test held in multiple sessions over several days. It has three sections: Section IA (13 languages), Section IB (20 additional languages), Section II (27 domain-specific subjects), and Section III (General Test). Candidates can appear in up to 6 subjects depending on their target programs. Each subject paper has 50 questions to be attempted in 60 minutes (45 minutes for some). Marking is +5 for correct, –1 for incorrect.

Preparation Strategy
The CUET UG syllabus is largely based on NCERT Class 12 textbooks for domain subjects, so a thorough revision of NCERTs is essential. For the General Test, daily current affairs reading (newspapers and monthly digests) and steady practice of reasoning and aptitude builds confidence. For language papers, practice unseen passages and grammar drills. Solve sample papers released by NTA and take a sectional mock weekly in the last 2 months.
