About Time Machine
The Great Pyramid, the fall of Rome, the Moon landing, the first iPhone — shuffle those and put them back in order. Easy enough. Now try it against events you're less sure about. Time Machine hands you four historical moments, scrambled, and asks you to line them up from oldest to newest. Get a run right and you start to see how the pieces actually fit — which came first, the printing press or the telescope, and by how long. It's a surprisingly good cure for history feeling like a pile of random dates, and there's nothing to download to give it a go.
The rules, quickly
Five rounds, four events each. Tap the cards in the order you think they happened, one through four, then hit Check Order. Nail a round and it's 25 points. Either way, the real years pop up afterward, so you can see exactly where you slipped. Play through all five, then have a crack at your best score.
Why it's worth a go
You come away with a sharper sense of chronology and how one era leads into the next, from ancient civilisations to the gadget in your pocket. Teachers reach for it for the same reason, and it fits students roughly in the grade 6 to 8 band. There are all 19 free learning games waiting, and if people grab you more than dates, try Who Am I? next.
